Bodywork 7x3

Starting on Wedenesday 8 september, on Wednesday mornings in Haarlem, I teach a bodywork lesson called 'Bodywork 7x3'. In these lessons, you work actively on localising and lossening the blocks and tensions you might have in your body. Each one of us has blocks; they usually form during our childhood and through life experiences. In these weekly lessons we offer a broad scale of techniques to allow you to learn about your blocks and learn how to let your energy flow. We bring in for example core and bio energetics, dynamic meditations, haptonomie, qi gong, breathwork, chakra exercises. Between November and April, in seven series of three lessons, we work through the seven body segments of Reichian psychology - which losely correspond to the seven chakras of Indian medicine - starting with the pelvis, and then the abdomen, the diaphragm, the chest, the throat, and ending with the eyes and the crown of the head. As we work on each body part in turn, we also work on the corresponding energetic function and emotional capacity. (For example, the feet and legs relate to the capacity to ground energetically and to feel welcome in the world; the chest corresponds to the capacity to feel your own needs and desires.) This lesson can support a yoga or sport training as it may bring insight into personal limitations. Bodywork 2x2

Starting on November 16 2011, a new advanced Bodywork lesson is planned: Bodywork 2x2. The form of this course is more intensive as it includes 8 group lessons and 3 individual therapy lessons. The focus of this series is the experience of working in pairs (2x2). When you do bodywork just focussing on yourself (like in the 7x3 series) you become able to experience the blocks in your body and discover how these blocks fix you in a certain psychological state. By Bodyworking in twos (2x2), you make the next step: you experience how you are triggered by the other and that your blocks are reactions to perceived threats from the outside. You feel unconfortable in the world so you make yourself small or tough to protect yourself. Your blocks (tight shoulders, slumped chest, etc.) are actually defenses, protective mechanisms, often developped a long time ago to deal with difficult experiences. But over the years , the blocks also keep us reacting defensively in the world. They maintain within our bodies the (old) feeling of insecurity. In this course, you develop alternative ways of feeling safe. Rather than block, harden, slump, you will learn tools to let safety grow in your body. As inner safety grows, your blocks are no longer necessary. Chronic contractions can ease away and you can let go of defensiveness... (For more content information see 2012 flyer.)

Heartwork (evening therapy group) 

From September 2012, with Marcel Vos, I lead a bodywork therapy group on one weekday evening, twice a month. I will use a wide range of techniques (Core energetics, meditation, yoga, ...). During these evenings we practice grounding, building up energy, letting go and relaxation. You can also bring in your own questions and themes and work on them in front of and with the support of the other group members. (Inscription after intake and payment). More information?
